OSS-L 22" Barrel Heavy
22” Heavy Profile 6ARC Barrel
Our 22” barrels sole purpose is precision and getting every single inch of velocity out of a 6mm projectile in the 6ARC. This barrel features a rifle +2” gas system to provide a delayed unlocking when pushing heavy bullets at maximum speeds resulting in a smoother shooting experience, improved SDs, less pressure to the case head during unlock. In our testing we found 22” was the point of maximum powder burn efficiency as well as creating the correct dwell time using a +2 gas system for the rifle.
Our barrel starts life as a XCaliber 1:7 twist 5R stainless blank. And then is machined and finished to our exact specifications as those in our OSS-L URG. Each barrel is hand finished. We bore lap and final polish the Chamber, Bore, Crown and Feed Ramps to ensure your break in process is minimal and all your loads count. This particular barrel is gassed to work optimally with peak pressure loads and heavy high BC projectiles in conjunction with the OCM-6 AEM-6 AEM5-30. This barrel is the first commercially available solution engineered specifically for the 6ARC and traditional MK12 style OTB cans. No adjustable gas blocks needed or wild buffer combinations necessary.

OSS-L 22" Barrel Heavy

The OSS-L"Operator Sniper System-Light"
was born from a collective vision and named in tribute to a group we hold in high regard: all of us who run a gasser! And when we say “us,” we mean the whole crew—competitive shooters, backcountry hunters, and our nation’s service members.
The people putting rounds downrange and demanding more from their gear. This build is a nod to that entire community—and it flat-out performs.
We brought together lifetimes of experience to deliver a combination that just works. Because despite different missions, we’re all chasing the same big three: accuracy,
reliability, and weight reduction.
OSS-L Summary Of Features

Overview
The MOD-H was chosen as the baseline for one simple reason: it provided the ideal footprint for the most important performance metric—precision. Its ample fitment points allow for precise hand-fitting and lapping, resulting in optimal tolerance stack-up and a true precision assembly in a rigid, robust design. Then we put it on a diet.

Barrel Profile
We cut over 1.2 lbs from the original variant, starting with our proprietary ultralight barrel profile, which features sweeping radius transitions. These transitions allow harmonics to flow and relax rather than being disrupted by unnecessary mass. Think skyscraper engineering: designed to sway with the wind, yet always return to zero.
Note: The Brouwer Ultralight Barrel Profile maintained the OEM compatibility with the OCM and Otter Creek Over the Barrel (OTB) suppressors. It is incumbent upon the end user to verify axial alignment and assess the potential baffle strike risk associated with using a .223 suppressor with a 6MM cartridge.

Carrier
Another notable cut came from the Faxon ultralight carrier. Selected after years of proven performance, it's one of the lightest options on the market. This translates into less mass moving over center, reducing reticle shift, improving follow-up shots, lowering pack weight, and eliminating the need for a heavier buffer system. It’s a damn win.

JP Enhanced Bolt
The JP enhanced bolt has long been a favorite for one reason: it works. Consistently outstanding QC and proven performance made it a clear choice for inclusion in the OSS-L. We chose 6ARC for the initial offering due to its unmatched versatility for small-frame platforms. With a broad range of available bullet weights and the inherent accuracy of the 6mm, it allows the system to truly shine.

Assembly and Vetting
Component selection is only half the equation. Each OSS-L upper is meticulously hand-fitted and lapped, ensuring mated parts meet our strict performance and precision standards. But we don’t stop at the bench—every assembled upper undergoes a live range test. A shot group is performed to validate performance and tuning before your rifle ever ships. That way, when it arrives in your hands, it’s already proven.

Lead Time
Due to the bespoke nature of each OSS-L, every unit is custom-built and undergoes a detailed, hands-on quality control process. These are not off-the-shelf, rack-grade uppers—they're hand-crafted performance assemblies.
Please allow 12–14 weeks for your order to be completed and shipped. Quality takes time—and this one’s worth the wait.
